Stair nosings are an area where many rules and regulations come in to play. Stair ways in public buildings and commercial premesie require stair nosing inserts to be of differant colours at set point to deffine a change in leaval. So on half landing or change in direction the colour should stand out as a warning. So if the bulk of steps are black edge the start points must be say light gray, this helps to deffine the edge to stairway for those with poor sight.
Many carpet and flooring fitters fail too specify this when ordering their nosings, and will fall foul of these rule should they be inspected. So lets be professional in our approch and check with the customer to their preferances when specifing coloured inserts. With under floor heating?
With under floor heating becoming more popular many carpet fitters are struggling to understand how to go about fitting carpets on these systems.
First and for most is the tog rating which should be kept a low as possible second nails and electic cables don't go together nor do they go with water pipes. Fitters must use stick down method's for gripper and underlay.
Among the best underlays for underfloor heating systems is the Ball & Young underlay ROMA
only 10sq/m per roll as it is very heavy.

Multi Scribe Tool
Many people ask which is the best tool? But that's too simplistic it's the right tool for the job that required. The Multi scribe tool is excellent at producing a cut line to work too. A perfect tool if you work with Mflor or Amtico luxuary vinyl tiles.

Cutting circles for repair.

Carpet fitters can often be asked to repair small areas of damage in a carpet this is often best achieved with a circle cutter. A small cutting tool which works a long the principle of a compass, once set you may remove a small section of carpet and leaving it set you can cut a replacement of the same size. This can then be inserted into the flooring to achieve an invisible repair.
